| Special note for relatives and friends who have the cremated remains of loved ones buried in the churchyard Holy Trinity Churchyard, Eccleshall Cremated remains
There is to be a
tidying of the area for cremated remains (north-east of the churchyard).
This follows an inspection by the Archdeacon some months ago, and it is
authorised by the Diocese of Lichfield (Faculty no. 3641, a copy of
which can been seen in the church porch).
The purpose is to put the area back into the position it should be in: only plaques are permitted, and they need to be low enough to allow mowing. This notice is to give families/next-of-kin the chance to make the changes themselves during January 2012, if they so wish. Alternatively, the church council will effect the change in February and March 2012. This will involve the removal and disposal of all extraneous objects (e.g. borders, chippings, stones, planted shrubs/bushes), the lowering of tablets, the repositioning of flower-receptacles, and re-seeding. Previous notification of this change has occurred in the parish magazine, and within the churchyard since April 2011.”
