TEDDY BEARS FOR BAPTISM CANDIDATES

When infants are brought for baptism to Holy Trinity Church or St Chad’s, Slindon, as well as the usual baptism certificate and candle, a member of Mothers’ Union presents a knitted teddy bear to the parents. Our ‘Teddy Bear Ministry’ has now been running for two years, and the bears are always much appreciated. Each bear is given a Bible name, and wears a label round its neck, which shows the name of the bear and where to read about that character in the Bible.

The attached photograph shows some members at a recent branch meeting holding a sample of the bears, which are knitted by Mrs Janet Myatt and Mrs Shirley Archer, to whom we are most grateful for their dedication and care in producing these beautiful bears.

Branch Leader – Judith Norton
