A meeting was held for past present and prospective members of the Company at the Royal Oak, High Street, Eccleshall on Wednesday 8th August in the restaurant. I The result of
the meeting is that the SAC is alive and well and planning for the future and
the distant future. Saints Alive Company - ON TOUR is planned when the group will perform songs already under their belt from previous Roger Jones shows at various venues around the area, a number of churches were mentioned. Plans to be formulated. The possibility of performing 'Joseph' in Eccleshall was strongly felt but in 2009, this year the group will be taking part in the Roy Boote memorial Concert at the community centre Eccleshall on Saturday 13th October along with a variety of local talent. Tickets will be on sale nearer the date. Taking part in the Harvest Festival service at the church on Sunday 7th October was agreed. Members of the Company are currently reading through a nativity play written by Amanda Graham and considering the possibility of performing it at the end of 2009.
Hi Folks
- I have just "stumbled" across your website. I'm
delighted and thrilled to read about the activities of the SAINTS ALIVE
COMPANY.
Well
done! It sounds like you all had a great time. Do keep in touch with me as
it is always encouraging to hear of such events.
Have you
ever been part of our main UK Tours? Did you get to JAIL BREAK in
Macclesfield, etc?
We are
now working on ROCK, which is to be released in June 2008, and premiered in
November 2008. We plan to bring it to Manchester in the first Tour (Nov 08)
and then later to Macclesfield.
Best wishes to you all,

Snakes & Ladders
On Saturday 16th and 17th June the Saints Alive Company gave their rendition of the Roger Jones musical, “Snakes and Ladders”.
The snakes and very scary they were too. The musical follows the ups and downs of God’s people through history – slithering down in sin and disobedience and being lifted through God’s grace. Sitting in the Garden of Eden where the serpent lurks, the story unfolds right through to the death and resurrection of Christ – the only ladder by which we can reach the end of the game.

The history of The Saints Alive Company A group of men, women and children joined together in 2004 to perform a musical written by Roger Jones on a religious theme and called Saints Alive. The members of the company come from all of the local churches and beyond and rehearsed in the Parish Room and the church and finally gave two performances in the Holy Trinity Church for the Eccleshall Festival in 2004. Saints Alive Produced for the Eccleshall Festival of 2004 the musical drew crowds to its two performances including the Bishop of Lichfield.
The members of the group ranging in age from upper sixties down to lower tens and found that they enjoyed working together and performing together and decided to produce another musical the following year.
Led by musical director Rodney Bellamy and coerced by drama coach Anita Guest and producer Hazel Bradshaw using the 'whip and chair technique' put together Jerusalem Joy in 2005.

The Company itself Around fifty people are involved in The Saints Alive Company not always appearing in each production. A sort of gypsy group with a hard core of regulars and others who perform in one then miss one then hopefully return for the next production. The company includes musicians, electricians, lighting people, prompters, tea makers and general hangers-on all of whom go together to form The Saints Alive Company. If you would like to join our happy band please get in touch with Anita 01785 851430, Hazel on 01785 851259 or Rodney on 01785 850162 and let them know you are interested and they will keep you up to date on rehearsals etc.
